KEYBOARD COLLABORATIVE ARTS
The Moores School of Music Keyboard Collaborative Arts Area is dedicated to the goal of infusing the importance of the art of musical collaboration throughout the world of keyboard education. By training our piano majors (both soloists and those who choose Collaborative Arts as their focus), we will strive to unify the stigmatic division of solo literature and collaborative work in an effort to change the perception that a pianist either is a 'soloist' or an 'accompanist'. We will strive to prove true the necessity for integrated keyboard education which includes collaborative skills. By offering a D.M.A. in Piano Performance with an emphasis on Collaborative Arts, we will act upon our goal to produce graduates who will go out into the field of music perfectly equipped to excel in solo performance, collaborative work and equally trained to teach these concepts to pupils of all levels.
